Muslims in Burj Khalifa told to delay breaking fast

DUBAI: Muslims living in the world's tallest tower will have to wait even longer to break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

Mohammed al-Qubaisi, Dubai's top Muslim cleric, said Sunday that Burj Khalifa residents living above the 80th floor should wait two additional minutes to break their dawn-to-dusk fast while those above the 150th floor must wait three extra minutes because they will be able to see the sun longer than those on the ground.

The half-mile high tower has 160 habitable floors.

Al-Qubaisi said the decree is similar to those relating to Muslims traveling on airplanes, and harkens back to a time when people living in the mountains broke their fast after those at lower elevations.

Does it matter if ALLAH is not Happy

Does it matter if i am happy but Allah is not happy with me
No, we cant be satisfied except with Allah, can we ?

Does it matter if people respect me but its not for Allah
No, they are hypocrites, don't believe them, says the Mullah

Does it matter if they love me but Allah doesn't
No, surely its of no use if Allah's love is absent

Does it matter if i defeat the whole world but cannot fight my nafs
No, it will only lead me to hell-fire,so how can it be enough

Does it matter if i keep on succeeding but cannot thank Him
No, u have to show gratitude with your heart , mouth and limb

Does it matter if i appear beautiful but The Creator finds me ugly
No, He says a believer's beauty lies in the heart not in his body

Does it matter if they praise me but i'm a transgressor in Allah's books
No, He will judge us on our thoughts and deeds, not on the outlook

Will it matter if i excel in this world but cry in the hereafter
No, i'd rather not live in this unfair world n die as a martyr

live a life that matters

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end: There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days. All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.

Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed. Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear. So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire.

The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived, at the end.

It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

SO WHAT WILL MATTER? HOW WILL THE VALUE OF YOUR DAYS BE MEASURED? What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave. What will matter is not your success, but your significance.

What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught. What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence, but your character.

What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.

What will matter are not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you. What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what. Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.

Choose to live a life that matters. "We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give".

Starving Muslims in Somalia

Images of starving Muslims in Somalia bring the pain to every man’s heart. Just spare a thought for millions of people in Africa who are facing the worst drought ever. They have nothing to eat or drink for weeks or even months. We should thank Allah for what He has blessed us with. And I ask Allah to bring help to them. Ameen.

Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Once in the lifetime of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) the people were afflicted with drought (famine). While the Prophet was delivering the Khutba on a Friday, a Bedouin stood up and said, "O, Allah's Apostle! Our possessions are being destroyed and the children are hungry; please invoke Allah (for rain)". So the Prophet raised his hands. At that time there was not a trace of cloud in the sky. By Him in Whose Hands my soul is as soon as he lowered his hands, clouds gathered like mountains, and before he got down from the pulpit, I saw the rain falling on the beard of the Prophet. It rained that day, the next day, the third day, the fourth day till the next Friday. The same Bedouin or another man stood up and said, "O Allah's Apostle! The houses have collapsed, our possessions and livestock have been drowned; Please invoke Allah (to protect us)". So the Prophet I raised both his hands and said, "O Allah! Round about us and not on us". So, in whatever direction he pointed with his hands, the clouds dispersed and cleared away, and Medina's (sky) became clear as a hole in between the clouds. The valley of Qanat remained flooded, for one month, none came from outside but talked about the abundant rain. [Bukhari: Book 2: Vol 13: Hadith 55]-
