Does Islam tolerate other beliefs?

The Quran says: God forbids you not, with regards to those who fight you not for [your] faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them; for God loveth those who are just. (Quran, 60.8) It is one function of Islamic law to protect the privileged status of minorities, and this is why non-Muslim places of worship have flourished all over the Islamic world. History provides many examples of Muslim tolerance towards other faiths: when the caliph Omar entered Jerusalem in the year 634, Islam granted freedom of worship to all religious communities in the city. Islamic law also permits non-Muslim minonties to set up their own courts, which implement family laws drawn up by the minorities themselves. When the caliph Omar took Jerusalem from the Byzantines, he insisted on entering the city with only a small number of his companions. Proclaiming to the inhabitants that their lives and property were safe, and that their places of worship would never be taken from them, he asked the Christian patriarch Sophronius to accompany him on a visit to all the holy places. The Patriarch invited him to pray in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, but he preferred to pray outside its gates, saying that if he accepted, later generations of Muslims might use his action as an excuse to turn it into a mosque. Above is the mosque built on the spot where Omar did pray. According to Islam, man is not born in 'onginal sin'. He is God's vicegerent on earth. Every child is born with the fitra, an innate disposition towards virtue, knowledge, and beauty. Islam considers itself to be the 'primordial religion', din al-hanif, it seeks to return man to his original, true nature in which he is in harmony with creation, inspired to do good, and confirming the Oneness of God.

Tony Blair’s sister-in-law has converted to Islam

Tony Blair’s sister-in-law has converted to Islam

Tony Blair’s sister-in-law has converted to Islam after having what she describes as a “holy experience” during a visit to Iran.
Journalist and broadcaster Lauren Booth, 43 – Cherie Blair’s sister – now wears a hijab whenever she leaves her home, prays five times a day and visits her local mosque whenever she can.

She decided to become a Muslim six weeks ago after visiting the shrine of Fatima al-Masumeh in the city of Qom.

“It was a Tuesday evening and I sat down and felt this shot of spiritual morphine, just absolute bliss and joy,” she said in an interview today.

When she returned to Britain, she decided to convert immediately.

Booth – who works for Press TV, the English-language Iranian news channel – has stopped eating pork and reads the Qur’an every day. She is currently on page 60.

Booth has stopped drinking alcohol and says she has not wanted to drink since converting.

Before her spiritual awakening in Iran, she had been “sympathetic” to Islam and has spent considerable time working in Palestine, she said, adding that she hoped her conversion would help Blair change his presumptions about Islam.

When she returned to Britain, she decided to convert immediately.

‘Now I don’t eat pork and I read the Koran every day. I’m on page 60. I also haven’t had a drink in 45 days, the longest period in 25 years,’ she said.

‘The strange thing is that since I decided to convert I haven’t wanted to touch alcohol, and I was someone who craved a glass of wine or two at the end of a day.’

Refusing to discount the possibility that she might wear a burka, she said: ‘Who knows where my spiritual journey will take me?’

Before her awakening in Iran, she had been ‘sympathetic’ to Islam and has spent considerable time working in Palestine. ‘I was always impressed with the strength and comfort it gave,’ she said of the religion.

Miss Booth, who works for Press TV, the English-language Iranian news channel, has been a vocal opponent of the war in Iraq.

In August 2008 she travelled to Gaza by ship from Cyprus, along with 46 other activists, to highlight Israel’s blockade of the territory.

She was subsequently refused entry into both Israel and Egypt.

She said she hoped her conversion would help Mr Blair change his presumptions about Islam.

The men, women and children around me withstood a day of no water and no food (it’s called Ramadan, Tony, it’s a fast),’ Booth wrote.

‘Coping with hunger and thirst in the hundred degrees heat, as if it were nothing. They can withstand deprivation in the Muslim world.

‘Here in Iran they feel proud to suffer in order to express solidarity with the people of Palestine. It’s kind of like the way you express solidarity with America only without illegal chemical weapons and a million civilian deaths.’

She adds: ‘Your world view is that Muslims, are mad, bad, dangerous to know. A contagion to be contained.

‘In the final chapter [of his autobiography] you say we need a “religious counter attack” against Islam. And by “Islam” you mean the Al Quds rallies, the Palestinian intifada (based on an anti Apartheid struggle Tony, NOT religious bigotry), against every Arab who fails to put their arms in the air as the F16 missiles rain on their homes and refugee camps and sing a rousing chorus of ‘Imagine all the people…’Source:

10 Tips on How to be a Successful Wife

1. Make Dua to Allah to make your marriage and relationship successful.

All good things are from Allah. Never forget to ask Allah ta’ala for the blessing of having a successful marriage that begins in this Dunya and continues on - by the Mercy of Allah ta’ala - into Jannah

2. *Listen and Obey!*

Obeying your husband is Fard! Your husband is the Ameer of the household. Give him that right and respect.

3. *Always seek to please your husband, for he is your key to Jannah.*

Rasul Allah - sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam - taught us that any women who dies in a state where her husband is pleased with her, shall enter Jannah. So .. please him.

4.  An argument is a fire in the house.

Extinguish it with a simple ‘I’m sorry’ even if it is not your fault. When you fight back, you are only adding wood to the fire. Watch how sweetly an argument will end when you just say sincerely, “Look, I’m sorry. Let’s be friends.”

5. Thank your husband constantly for the nice things he does.

Then thank him again. This is one of the most important techniques, as the opposite is a characteristic of the women of hellfire.4. An argument is a fire in the house.

6. Joke and play games with your husband.

A mans secret: they seek women who are light-hearted and have a sense of humor. As Rasul Allah - sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam - told Jabir to marry someone who would make him laugh and he would make her laugh.

7. Always wear jewelry and dress up in the house.

From the early years, little girls have adorned themselves with earrings and bracelets and worn pretty dresses - as described in the Qur’an. As a wife, continue to use the jewelry that you have and the pretty dresses for your husband.

8.  Review the characteristics of the Hoor Al-Ayn and try to imitate them

The Qur’an and Sunnah describe the women in Jannah with certain characteristics. Such as the silk they wear, their large dark eyes, their singing to their husband, etc. Try it, wear silk for your husband, put Kohl in your eyes to ‘enlarge’ them, and sing to your husband.

9. When your husband comes home, greet him with a wonderful greeting

Imagine your husband coming home to a clean house, an exquisitely dressed wife, a dinner prepared with care, children clean and sweet smelling, a clean bedroom - what would this do to his love for you? Now imagine what the opposite does to him.

10. Use your ‘beauty’ to win the heart of your husband

Do you Respect your Elders?

Although piety and knowledge are the true attributes of greatness in Islam, the youngsters have been enjoined to give due respect to their elder. Our Prophet, upon whom be peace, went to the extent of saying that, “He is not of us who does not have kindness for our young and respect for our old.” (Abu... Daud and Ti...rmidhi)

Grey-haired folk have been specially indicated as objects of our respect in hadith. Abu Musa Ashari relates that our Prophet, may he be eternally blessed, said, “Respect for a grey-haired Muslim is a part of respect for Allah.” (Abu Daud)

Another Prophetic saying has been related by Anas, “For youth who respects an old man because of his age, Allah appoints people who shall respect the young man in his old age.”

It was a custom of our eternally blessed Prophet that if a younger member of a delegation began to speak, the Holy Prophet asked him to let the elders speak first. This shows the great emphasis, laid by our blessed Prophet upon respect for elders, which is highly merited and rewarded.

Who is The King and Who is the Beggar Heart Touching

There was a king who decided to take a tour of his country. As he passed by different places, everyone rushed to see him. However, while passing by a certain place, he noticed a poor old man who did not pay any attention to the king's arrival and remained engaged in his own activities. The king went up to this poor man and asked why he did not join the people to see him. The poor man replied, "Before you, there was another king who once passed by this place. Everyone gathered to see him as well. But, few days later he die...d and was buried in a place nearby. A poor man also died during that time and was buried near the king's grave. After some time, a strong flood passed through that area causing those graves to overturn. As a result, the bones of the poor man became mixed up with those of the king's. We could not differentiate between them any longer. After seeing this, it does not matter to me anymore as to who is a king and who is a beggar. In the end, our home is the same

My Mother I Love You Heart Touching

I missed you so much . I remembered you today,As I sat alone on your favourite chair Thinking about my life and where it has taken me Your daughter has grown up. Your daughter has faced the world.

You would cry if only you knew . The trials and challenges that passed me by  The turbulence and turmoil that has enveloped me But I faced it all Alhamdulillah With the strength from Allah With the prayer you have made for me Once upon a time I can always feel your presence Even in my darkest hour I can always hear your whispers Asking me to do the right thing Even if that would be the most bitter of all Even if I cannot swallow it all.

Race Towards Good Deeds

A neighbour of mine had a knee operation about a month ago, and for a month I’ve been telling myself to go visit him. Everyday I delayed it till the next day, and never got around it. Last week, I made the utmost preparation to go see him and I told myself “No excuses! I have to visit this brother.” I go pray Maghreb planning to see him after salah and subhanaAllah – there he was in the mosque before me with the rest of the brothers feeling better and able to walk.

May Allah forgive me

I felt so bad, and couldn’t stop rebuking myself for missing such a huge reward and opportunity to visit a neighbour, a Muslim brother, in his time of need. I remembered the Hadeeth Qudsi where Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) would say to a person on the Day of Judgement: “O son of Adam I was sick and you did not visit Me. He would say: O my Lord; how could I visit You and You are the Lord of the worlds? Thereupon He would say: Didn’t you know that such and such servant of Mine was sick but you did not visit him and were you not aware that if you had visited him, you would have found Me by him?” (Muslim).

May Allah forgive me
Sometimes we keep putting off good deeds, and delay performing them but can any of us guarantee we have tomorrow? I remembered the hadeeth of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) which promised great reward for someone visiting the sick, He (Peace be upon him) said: “There is not a Muslim that visits another in the morning except that 70,000 angels ask forgiveness for him until the night, and if he visits him at night then 70,000 angels ask forgiveness for him until the morning, and he will have earned a garden in paradise” (At-Tirmidhi).

May Allah forgive me

Reflecting deeply on the failure to hasten towards good deeds on this occasion, I remembered the hadeeth, where the caller of heaven would say to the person visiting the sick: “You have done well and your walk was good also, and you have earned a place in paradise” (At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah). So why do we still not run towards opportunities to do good deeds presented before us?

May Allah forgive me
Brothers and sisters, the most important lesson to take away is that we should not delay, and hasten towards good deeds.

Allah says in the Qur’an: “Be quick in the race for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Garden whose width is that (of the whole) of the heavens and of the earth, prepared for the righteous” (Al-Imran, Chapter 3, Verse 133). We should not forget that our brothers and sisters in Islam have rights over us, and there should be no excuses to seek those good deeds out. You might have a busy life, but if you want to know what true productivity means in Islam, it’s making sure that you do not miss these “opportunities” and “golden” moments to be with your brother and sister in their time of need. Ultimately it might be an act which saves you in the Hereafter. Make time for them and Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) will reward you, bless you, and make time for you inshaAllah.

I hope that this message to race towards good deeds reaches you and and that it becomes a mean for Allah to forgive me.

Life is too short to make and accelerate relations.

Life is too short to make & accelerate relations. I don't know why people break the developed relations. The life is too short to say something to your loved ones. I don't know why people keep silence for a long period. This life is too short to make real friends; I don't know why people break friendship. Think before it’s too late. Today is your time. Nobody knows about the next moment, because life can't wait. Live it. Love it & Express It.

What is the Status of Women in Islam

Contrary to the customs practiced in most of the Muslim world today, Islam granted equal but not the same status to men and women, 1400 years ago.The Qur’an specifically declares that the souls of men and women are equal, and that obligations and rewards are equally bestowed upon both. In Verse 124 Chapter 4 of The Holy Qur’an, God Almighty says:

“If any do deeds of righteousness – Be they male or female – and have faith, they will enter Heaven, and not the least injustice will be done to them.”

Although, men and women are equal in the eyes of God, Islam acknowledges that they are physically, biologically, and emotionally different. It is for this reason that some lifestyle details are different. A woman is made to be a mate or companion for man, and is not to be considered a source of all evil, but a blessing from God.

Islam granted women complete economic independence, before and after marriage. A Muslim women is under no obligation to provide for or supplement the family income. The husband has the entire responsibility.

Islamic law gives women the right to choose their husbands and to initiate a divorce. Muslim women have always had the right to vote, a right achieved by the women in the West only recently.

Prophet Muhammad said: “Paradise is under the feet of your mother.”

Young Man Fear Heart Touching

One day, Malik bin Dinar (rahimaullah) was passing by a place when he noticed a young man wearing old clothes and crying by the roadside. His name was Uthbah. Sweat was dripping down his body even though the temperature was very cold at that time. Malik bin Dinar became very surprised at this scene and asked Uthbah, “Oh young man, why are you crying? And why are you sweating during this cold temperature? “

Uthbah replied, “Once, I committed a sin at this place. Today, as I was passing by this place, I remembered that sin.”

Concept of Brotherhood in Islam

Many of today's problems derive from the fact that the world in which we live is rapidly becoming one world. With modern technology, communication and transport, mankind is no longer isolated from each other; instead mankind out of necessity must learn to live close together in intimate contact with each other. In other words, they must become a true brotherhood. This requires many adjustments. First of all mankind needs some sort of rules of conduct to help them interact with each other. Since all mankind desires peace, then the only real way to achieve that is through religion. Religion is not the cause of many of today's problems; it is the misuse of religion.

What is Religion?
Religion is a divine system of beliefs, acts of worship, and rules of conduct to enable human beings to achieve nearness to Allah and to lead a peaceful life.

But a faith, if it is to fulfil man's needs of today, must, therefore, transcend tribal, national, racial and cultural limits, and must speak to men at a universal level; This is achieved by Islam. The Holy Quran opens with the verse:-

All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. (Ch. 1: verse2)
This presents the reader with a unified concept of humanity and of the universe. The message of Islam is not confined to any section of mankind; instead it embraces the whole of mankind and the entire universe. As the Holy Quran relates“

Say; 'O mankind! truly 1 am a Messenger to you all from Allah to Whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth. There is no God, but He. He gives life and He causes death...” (Ch. 7: verse159)

The advent of the Holy Prophet (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is described in the Holy Quran as:“ a mercy for all peoples.(Ch. 21: verse108)Furthermore, Islam proclaims to be for the universal brotherhood of man.

"And hold fast, all together, by the rope of Allah and be not divided; and remember the favour of Allah which He bestowed upon you when you were enemies and He united your hearts in love, so that by His grace you became as brothers; and you were on the brink of a pit off re and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah explain to you His commandments that you may be guided."” (Ch. 3: verse 104)

Islam recognises mankind's diversity of colour, race, language etc. The Holy Quran relates:

“And among His signs are the creation of the heavens and earth, and the diversity of your tongues and colours. In that surely are Signs for those who possess knowledge.”(Ch. 30: verse 23)

But it proclaims that the standard that we should judge one another, should be that same standard that God judges us by; not by the position, wealth or colour but by the purity and righteousness of a person's life. The Holy Quran relates:

"O, mankind, We have created you from a male and a female; and We have made you into tribes and sub-tribes that you may recognise one another. Verily, the most honorable among you, in the sight of Allah, is he who is most righteous among you Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware."(Ch 49:14)

Islam makes no distinction or privilege, whether pertaining to colour, race or caste or derived from family, rank, or wealth. Instead it makes all mankind one great brotherhood, and exhorts all of us to seek and win the pleasure of God through the righteousness and beneficence of our conduct towards each other.

This has been nicely explained by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who has stated:

The mission for which I have been appointed is to remove that growing gap in the relationship between God and His creation and replace it once again with the relationship of love and sincerity; and by allowing the truth to manifest itself, cause religious wars and discord to end and thus lay the foundations for peace; and disclose such religious truths as had become hidden from the eyes of the world; and display an example of that spirituality that had become buried under the darkness of the pleasures of the self; and by my condition rather than by word of mouth, I should tell and explain God's powers that enter man and re-emerge as meditation or prayer” (Lecture Lahore, Page 47)

Therefore the only real answer to resolve many of today's problems is to have one universal religion for all mankind and Islam claims to be that religion. Through following the teachings of Islam it will enable man to recognise his God and be able to interact with God's creation and thus find the peace that he desires.

Miracles of Qur'an.

We mentioned earlier that the greatest Miracle given to our Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is the Qur'an. The Qur'an was sent to mankind 1,400 years ago, but there are some facts related in the Qur'an whose meanings we have only been able to uncover recently.

From the planets to the stars, human beings to animals, Allah created everything in the universe. Our Lord already knows everything we have not discovered so far and He informs us about some of that in the Qur'an. We can only learn these things when Allah permits us, and then we realise that they are miracles of Allah.

The Qur'an contains many scientific miracles. Here, we will deal with only some of the scientific miracles of the Qur'an. (For further information, you can refer to the book, Miracles of the Qur'an.)How The Universe Came Into ExistenceThe origin of the universe is described in the Qur'an in the following verse and in many others:He is the Originator ofcreated the heavens and the earth from nothing… (Surat al-An'am: 101)In the first section of the book, we described in detail how the universe came into existence from nothing 15 billion years ago. In other words, the universe suddenly came into existence from nothing.

Only the science of the twentieth century enabled us to attain scientific evidence of this great event. Therefore, it was impossible to know this scientifically 1,400 years ago. But, as is also mentioned in the previous verse, Allah told us this fact when the Qur'an was first revealed. This is a miracle of the Qur'an and one of the pieces of evidence that it is the Speech of Allah.

Orbits
Many of you know that our world and the other planets have orbits. In fact, not only do the planets in our Solar System have orbits, but also all heavenly bodies in the universe have their separate orbits. That is, they all move in very precisely computed paths. This scientific truth that scientists have only recently uncovered was revealed 1,400 years ago:

It is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They swim along, each in an orbit. (Surat al-Anbiya: 33)As is also seen in this verse, Allah informs us about a scientific fact which was only discovered recently. At the time the Qur'an was revealed, people did not know that heavenly bodies moved in constant orbits. But Allah knows everything and tells what He wills to His slaves. The Seas' Not Mingling With One AnotherOne of the properties of seas that has only recently been discovered is related in a verse of the Qur'an as follows:

He has let loose the two seas, converging together, with a barrier between them they do not break through. (Surat ar-Rahman: 19-20)

This property of the seas, that they come together yet do not mingle with one another at all, has only very recently been discovered by oceanographers. Because of the physical force called "surface tension," the waters of neighbouring seas do not mix. Caused by the difference in the density of their waters, surface tension prevents them from mingling with one another, just as if a thin wall were between them.

The interesting side to this is that during a period when people had no knowledge of physics, surface tension or oceanography; this was revealed in the Qur'an.

The Roundness of the Earth

The understanding of astronomy of the time, when the Qur'an was revealed, perceived the world differently. It was then thought by some that the earth was flat, and others had different theories. But the fact that the earth was round was not then generally known. However, from the Qur'an it was understood by implication that the shape of the world is round. The relevant verse reads: He has created the Heavens and the Earth for Truth. He wraps the night up in the day, and wraps the day up in the night(Surat az-Zumar: 5)

The Arabic word "takwir" is translated as "to wrap" in the above verse. In English it means "to make one thing lap over another, folded up as a garment that is laid away." The day and the night wrapping over each other can be true only if the earth is round. But, as mentioned above, the Arabs who lived 1,400 years ago thought that the earth was flat. This means that the roundness of the world was hinted at in the Qur'an, which was revealed in the seventh century. That is because Allah teaches the truth to mankind. This matter, indicated in the Book revealed by Allah, was verified only centuries later by scientists.Since the Qur'an is Allah's word, the most correct words were used in it when describing the universe. It is unlikely that a human could know and choose these words. But because Allah knows everything, He can make these facts available to man at any time He wills.

Fingerprints:

While it is stated in the Qur'an that it is easy for Allah to bring man back to life after death, Allah draws attention in particular to peoples' fingertips:Does man imagine We will not reassemble his bones?

Yes, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. (Surat al-Qiyama: 3-4)

Bringing an utterly decayed human body back to life is very easy for Allah. Now, examine your fingertips. Everyone's fingerprints are unique to himself. If you had a twin, his/her fingerprints would also be different. Every person who is alive or who has ever lived in this world has a unique set of fingerprints. That is why they are almost as unique as the identity of a person.

Allah the Almighty can re-create us, down to all these fine details. Meanwhile, we need to keep in mind that the significance of fingerprints and that the fact that every person has a set of fingerprints peculiar to himself was only discovered in the nineteenth century. But Allah drew attention to the tips of the fingers 1,400 years ago in the Qur'an.There are several other issues miraculously indicated by the Qur'an. We have only discussed a few of them here. These alone suffice to make clear that the Qur'an is the Speech of Allah. (For further information, you can refer to the book, Miracles of the Qur'an by Harun Yahya.)

Allah informs us the following about the Qur'an:

Will they not ponder the Qur'an? If it had been from other than Allah, they would have found many inconsistencies in it. (Surat an-Nisa: 82)

As is also evident from the verse above, the Qur'an provides accurate information. With advances in science, more of the miracles mentioned in the Qur'an are being revealed. These miraculous attributes of the Qur'an prove that it is a revelation from Allah. At this point, it is our job to learn and practise the commands of the Qur'an meticulously.

Allah commands us to adhere to the Qur'an in many verses. Some of them are as follows:

And this is a Book We have sent down and blessed, so follow it and do your duty so that hopefully you will gain mercy. (Surat al-An'am: 155)…Truly it is a reminder, and whoever wills pays heed to it. (Surah 'Abasa: 11-12)

A Conversation with God

“Welcome my child, I’ve been waiting for you”

“WOW, every time I pray I can talk to you?”

“Yes, my child, you can”

“Oh, I don’t know what to say God……..”

“My child you don’t need to say anything just clear your heart and mind, I’m here for you”

“Sure God, but first, I have some questions…..is that OK”

“Certainly you may ask me anything you like”

“OK and thank you so much….why did my parent’s divorce? Why did my husband not stay with me? Why do I go hungry sometimes? Why can I not find my life’s partner? Why do I lose many things in my life? Why do….”

“Wait my child, one question at a time”

“Oh, sorry God, I just don’t know why my life isn’t the best in the world. I mean I never have all the things that other people have, I don’t have the big fancy house, or all the money I want, or the nice cars like my friends drive. I just wondered why”

“I see….continue my child, I’m listening”

“Well, looking at my life I want so many things that I don’t have. You know, children, someone to love me, you know….the “good” life….”

“Have you finished with your questions my child?”

“Yes I have”

“Let me see my child if I can answer your questions. Yes, your parents divorced but aren’t they still alive? Your marriage ended but was he my choice for you? You hunger for food but does this not teach you to share with others who hunger more? I send you many choices for partners but you are not pleased with my choices. Yes, you lose many things in your life but you still have your life.”

“Oh”

“You life is what you make it, I give you many signals but you are not pleased with my examples. Other people have more than you to inspire you to strive harder. No, your house is not fancy rather it is moderate; it keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It keeps you safe from the weather. No you are not rich of money and nice cars but you have what you need. My child, have I answered you wrong? You look confused.”

“No God, I’m not confused just a little ashamed now.”

Your life is not perfect, your heart is broken, and you feel like you have nothing. My brothers and sisters you have more than you realize. Each and every time you complain remember this….God is listening. If you could talk to God today…..what would you say? Maybe God has something to say…are you listening? God is loving an patient, all knowing and all seeing. When you doubt his plan for you and your life it is as if you are questioning him. Don’t you feel a little ashamed now?

Women and Beauty

There is something that has been on my mind for 2 days now and I have held it inside long enough. I am one of those people that read pretty much most of the articles and news reports that my friends post because as I have always said, “Knowledge is power” and I always seek new knowledge. So , here I go again speaking what’s on my mind.

I keep seeing posts from friends about women in Islam shouldn’t do this, are not allowed to do that and should never participate in this or that. Wait a minute! Let’s talk about some things for a minute. The Quran says, “And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! Turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss.” [Q 24:31] The Quran is telling the woman to protect her modesty.

Modesty is…

1. The state or quality of being modest,
2. Reserve or propriety in speech, dress, or behavior,
3. Lack of pretentiousness; simplicity.

The website that lists this definition can be found at http://www.thefreedictionary.com/modesty

The Quran states that women should, “not display their beauty”.

Beauty is…

1. the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit
2. a beautiful person or thing
3. a particularly graceful, ornamental, or excellent quality

The website that lists this definition can be found at http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/beauty.

Now, let’s discuss beauty in both the Quran and the websites I have listed above. We are instructed to cover our bodies, lower our gaze and guard our modesty. This is what I love about Islam and the Quran. That it is clear and precise in its meanings to all of us. In this same instance it invites us to use our own judgment that ALLAH (swt) himself has given us. So, here is my problem. It appears to me that beauty is in her ways, her speech, her behavior, her qualities and her character. So when I read articles that are stating, sisters take your pictures down as The Quran states you should hide your beauty. I want to know the person who wrote this article. Where in the Quran or any other book does it state that women are ONLY an outer appearance and that this is the only beauty she has? Mind you I completely understand the concept and clearly get the point BUT this is where I will also call the brothers out and advise you all of what The Quran tells you. “Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.” [Q 24:30]”

In no place does it mention that you should hide your beauty but rather to lower your gaze and guard your modesty. So, my point in this is simple. Beauty is pleasing to the heart and not the eyes, soothing to the soul and mind. In your perception of beauty lower your gaze and see a woman for who she is and not for how she looks. Beauty is what it is. It is we the people who have made it something very different than its original meaning. In this instance the meaning of modesty for men is simple. Mind your character and morals, understand how others see you and know that you are a direct reflection of the men of Islam. Islam forces you to talk to my face and not my chest. So as you are posting pictures of female body parts and surfing Facebook to add less than modest women, know that YOU TOO should guard your modesty. Don’t always point the fingers at the sisters.

Live By Faith and Not By Feelings

This is an important thing would like to share with my readers

When everything is pleasant and bright,And the things we do turn out just right,We feel without question that ALLAH is real,For, when we are happy, how good we feel. But when the tides turn and gone is the song.Doubt creeps in and we start to wonder and our thoughts about ALLAH are torn asunder--For we feel deserted in time of deep stress,Without ALLAHs presence to assure us and bless and it is then when our senses are reeling We realize clearly it's Faith and not Feeling--For it takes Great Faith to patiently wait,Believing "ALLAH comes not to soon or too late."

Position of Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) in Islam

(i) Islam is the only non-Christian faith, which makes it an article of faith to believe in Jesus Peace Be Upon Him). No Muslim is a Muslim if he does not believe in Jesus Peace Be Upon Him).

(ii) We believe that he was one of the mightiest Messengers of Allah (swt).

(iii) We believe that he was born miraculously, without any male intervention, which many modern day Christians do not believe.

(iv) We believe he was the Messiah translated Christ Peace Be Upon Him).

(v) We believe that he gave life to the dead with ALLAH’s permission.

(iv) We believe that he healed those born blind, and the lepers with ALLAH’s permission.

What does Islam say about war and terrorism?

Like Christianity, Islam permits fighting in self-defense, in defense of religion, or on the part of those who have been expelled forcibly from their homes. It lays down strict rules of combat which include prohibitions against harming civilians and against destroying crops, trees and livestock. As Muslims see it, injustice would be triumphant in the world if good men were not prepared to risk their lives in a righteous cause.

The Quran says:

Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not transgress limits. God does not love transgressors. (2:190)

If they seek peace, then seek you peace. And trust in God for He is the One that heareth and knoweth all things. (8:61)

War, therefore, is the last resort, and is subject to the rigorous conditions laid down by the sacred law. The term jihad literally means 'struggle', and Muslims believe that there are two kinds of jihad. The other 'jihad' is the inner struggle which everyone wages against egotistic desires, for the sake of attaining inner peace.

The importance of Mother in Quran and Hadith on Mother

The Quran
:

1. "We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents; in pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth" (46:15).

2. "Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor. And out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: ‘My Lord! bestow on them Thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood' "(17:23-24).

3. "We have enjoined on man and woman kindness to parents; but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not'" (29:8).

4. "We have enjoined on man and woman (to be good) to his/her parents; show gratitude to Me and to thy parents; to Me is (thy final) Goal. If they (parents) strive to make thee join in worship with Me things of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them company in this life with justice (and consideration) and follow the way of those who turn to Me (in love)" (31:14-15).

The Hadith:

1. The Prophet Muhammad said, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him: Your Heaven lies under the feet of your mother (Ahmad, Nasai).

2. A man came to the Prophet and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?' The Prophet said: Then your father. (Bukhari, Muslim).

3. Abu Usaid Saidi said: We were once sitting with Rasulullah when a man from the tribe of Salmah came and said to him: O Messenger of Allah! do my parents have rights over me even after they have died? And Rasulullah said: Yes. You must pray to Allah to bless them with His Forgiveness and Mercy, fulfill the promises they made to anyone, and respect their relations and their friends (Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah).

4. Abdullah ibn Amr related that the Messenger of Allah said: The major sins are to believe that Allah has partners, to disobey one's parents, to commit murder, and to bear false witness (Bukhari, Muslim).

5. It is narrated by Asma bint Abu Bakr that during the treaty of Hudaibiyah, her mother, who was then pagan, came to see her from Makkah. Asma informed the Messenger of Allah of her arrival and also that she needed help. He said: Be good to your mother (Bukhari, Muslim).

Anger and Good Manners in Islam

Someone asked Prophet Mohammad for a simple advice that he could follow. His answer was, “Do not get angry.”

The Prophet also said: “The strongest among you is not the one with most power or the one in authority or the one with the most money. It is the one who can control his Anger.”

The Prophet also gave some practical advice as how to control anger. He advised Muslims that when they are angry, to make ablution or wash their face, forearms, and feet with water. Also, that if they are standing, to sit down, and if they are sitting, to lie down.Prophet Muhammad said: “Seven kinds of people will be sheltered under the shade of God on the Day of Judgment. They are:

A just ruler

A young man who passed his youth in the worship, and service of God; One whose heart is attached to the mosque; Two people who love each other for the sake of God; A man who is invited to sin but declines, saying: “I fear God”;One who spends his charity in secret, without making a show; And one who remembers God in solitude so that his eyes overflow.

The Prophet also said: “A believer, through his good Manners, may achieve the status of the one who regularly fasts to please God during the day, and spends the night in prayer.”

If everything needs a creator, then who created Allah?

This is just rhetoric and playing with words. In all practicality this scenario doesn’t exist, and here’s why: Assumption: Every thing is created by “A” Question: Who created “A”?

Answer: “B” created “A” Question: Who created “B”?

Answer: “C” created “B” Question: Who created “C”?

Answer: “D” created “C” And so on and so forth. You can keep asking this question until we exhaust the chain of creation. Ultimately, we will all have to agree one of 2 things: Either the “creator” is a product of random chance and accident, or some “thing” outside the realm of natural creation exists who is self-existing and doesn’t need a creator.

Furthermore, things like “created” and “born” and “died” are physical things which require time and space. If there is an existence which is self-existing, then that means time doesn’t affect Him because He doesn’t get old, or get born, or dies. If time doesn’t affect Him then that means He is outside the realm of time and space. If He is outside the realm of time and space then He lived before everyone else and will live after everyone else.

To understand this better, draw a straight line with blue ink on a piece of paper. Let this blue ink represent time. We know time exists so some “thing” has to initiate this line. So now you would draw a bracket in red ink at the beginning of the line. As soon as we draw this bracket in red ink outside the line of time, we right away admit that this “thing” is BEFORE time starts. With time begins all other creation, and this “time” separates the creation from the Ultimate Creator. Since this Ultimate Creator existed before the measurement of time began, for all factual and empirical purposes that makes Him, quite literally, “Eternal and Absolute.”

Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.

I really Hate You

No one likes to hear those words. We have all experienced those very sad days when we hear that someone who we thought was close to us and loved us actually dislikes us. Or the day that we find out that someone has been saying hurtful things behind our back. The reality is that this is how mankind is: very unpredictable. One day someone may love you and the next they may hate you.

So how does a Muslim find contentment with all this unpredictability? The answer is very simple

The only thing that we truly need to fret about is whether or not Allah loves us. If our relationship with Allah is great, we will easily realize that it really doesn't matter whether an individual loves us (or likes us) or not.
And the great thing about seeking Allah's love is that if Allah loves us, then people will automatically love us. Consider this:

The Prophet (salallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: "When Allah loves a slave, He calls [the angel] Jibril and says: `I love so-and-so; so love him.' And then Jibril loves him. Then he (Jibril) announces in the heavens saying: Allah loves so-and-so; so love him; and the inhabitants of the heavens also love him; and then people on earth also love him..."[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

So, seek Allah's love and you will find that you will not have to seek the love or praise of anyone else. And that, my brothers and sisters, is how we find contentment and tranquility in this life of ours :)

The Well of Zamzam (Abe zamzam Water) *Real fact and knowledge*

Raudat Tahera 01

The Well of Zamzam is a well located within the Masjid al Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, 20 meters east of the Kaaba, the holiest place in Islam. According to Islamic tradition it was a miraculously- generated source of water, which began thousands of years ago when Ibraham's infant son was thirsty and kept crying for water and was kicking at the ground when water gushed out. Millions of pilgrims visit the well each year while performing the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimages, in order to drink its water. By Saudi law, the water cannot be sold outside of the kingdom, but because of strong demand there is a thriving market in fake Zamzam water in other countries.

Here are some interesting facts about Zamzam:

Raudat Tahera 02

The Zamzam well was excavated by hand, and is about 30 metres deep and 1.08 to 2.66 metres in diameter.
It started 4000 yrs ago.Zamzam water has no colour or smell, but it has a distinct taste, and its pH is 7.9-8.0, indicating that it is alkaline to some extent.

Never dried since then.

Never changed the taste, no Algea or plant growth in the pond, thus no disease caused.
Raudat Tahera 03

It taps groundwater from the wadi alluvium and some from the bedrock. Originally water from the well was drawn via ropes and buckets, but today the well itself is in a basement room where it can be seen behind glass panels (visitors are not allowed to enter). Electric pumps draw the water, which is available throughout the Masjid via water fountains and dispensing containers near the Tawaf area.

The water level is 3.23 metres (about 10.59 ft) below the surface. This small pond provides water to millions of people through heavy motors pulling 8000 litres/second for more than a 24 hour period showed a drop in water level from 3.23 metres below surface to 12.72 metres and then to 13.39 metres, after which the water level stopped receding. When pumping stopped, the water level recovered to 3.9 metres below surface only 11 minutes later. This data shows that the aquifer feeding the well seems to recharge from rock fractures in neighbouring mountains

HARDSHIPS BENEFIT THE BELIEVER

Allah has decreed that, in this life, hardships and disasters strike both believers and non-believers. For a non-believer, they are inconveniences that hinder him from proceeding with his normal involvement in the worldly life. For a believer, on the other hand, they are instances of rest and remembrance, tests that promise great rewards, and indications of atonement and expiation of sins. Regardless of how little is the harm that strikes a believer, it carries with it good news of forgiveness and elevated rank (in Jan-nah). The Righteous Predecessors used to be pleased when a hardship afflicted them, seeing it as a token of Allah’s forgiveness and benevolence.

The Ten Ways to Expiate Your Sins

If a believer falls into sin, it’s punishment would be repelled from him in ten ways:

1. He repents and therefore Allah would accept his repentance. The one who repents from a sin is as the one who hasn’t sinned.

2. He asks for forgiveness and he would therefore be forgiven.

3. He performs acts of righteousness that would erase his sins, for indeed righteous actions erase sins.

4. His brothers supplicate for him; that his sins be forgiven - while he is alive and after his death.

5. His brothers gift the reward of their actions to him so that Allah may benefit it him through them [Translator’s note: Not all actions can be gifted as reward, only those that were specified by the Qur'an and Sunnah].

6. That his Prophet Muhammad - صلى الله عليه وسلم - intercedes for him.

7. That Allah puts him through trials in the life of this world that would expiate his sins.

8. That Allah puts him through trials in the Barzakh and the Sa’iqah that would expiate his sins.

9. That Allah puts him through the trials of the Day of Resurrection and its horrors, that which would expiate his sins.

10. Or that the Most Merciful of the merciful has mercy over him.

Whoever lets these ten pass him by, then let him blame no one but himself, as Allaah the Elevated said in a Hadeeth that was narrated by His Messenger:

“O My servants, they are only your own deeds, I take them into account for you, and then give (their reward or punishment) back to you. So whoever finds good then let him praise Allah. And whoever finds other than that then let him blame no one but himself.”

Christian accepts Islam after Challenging a question to Dr. Zakir Naik Video

Christian accepts Islam after posing a question to Dr. Zakir Naik. Young, brave and confident Christian from the audience in Toronto challenges Dr. Zakir Naik on the divinity of Jesus (pbuh). By the end of Dr. Zakir Naik's answer, brother Patrick becomes convinced, accepts Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them both) as messengers of Allah (God in English) and embraces Islam. May Allah bless him and keep him steadfast, ameen. Amazing Shahadah with Zakir Naik during Q&A at Journey of Faith

The time has now come for you to use your reason and ask yourself: How could Christ ("God"!) be in the womb of a created woman? Is the mother of this "God" (!) -- the Virgin Mary -- a creator or a created being? Who was crucified on the cross in the light of this belief that the divine was not separated from the human; was the divine crucified with him or did it leave him at the time of the crucifixion? Was the Lord God unable to find a way to forgive the sins of mankind except this repugnant way in which His only son was killed?

Does God want to show mercy to mankind and for that reason He punished His son?!

The time has come to think about the idolatrous ideas that Paul introduced to this religion, as he introduced the idea that Christ was created from the divine, after the Christians had been unanimously agreed that he was a created being, a slave or servant of God. Who is Christ according to the Christians? Is he the Lord or the son of the Lord or the third of three? The time has come to think about the belief in Trinity which is contrary to sound human nature and common sense.

The time has come to think about the contradictions in the attitude towards the cross; instead of burning every cross and treating it in a disrespectful manner because it was on something like this that the Lord or the son of the Lord was crucified -- God forbid -- as the Christians claim, we see them venerating it and regarding it as holy and worshipping it. The time has come to think about the embarrassing differences between the Gospels, from which there is no way out except to admit that they have been tampered with and the wording and meaning has been distorted.

Are you a Good Servant or a bad servant find out?

Manners In Islam Al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah bestow His mercy upon him)] said: "What a bad servant [of the Lord] is he! I am speaking of a servant who fits the following description:

1. He asks for forgiveness (maghfirah), while he is actively engaged in sinful disobedience (ma'siya).

2. He behaves in a humbly submissive manner, so that he may be credited with loyalty (amana), but he is only pretending, to hide his disl...oyalty (khiyanah).

3. He forbids what is wrong, but does not refrain from it himself.

4. He enjoins what is right, but does not act upon his own instructions.

5. If he gives, he does so very stingily, and if he withholds, he offers no apology.

6. If he is in the best of health, he feels secure, but if he falls sick, he becomes remorseful.

7. If he is impoverished, he feels sad, and if he gets rich, he is subject to temptation.

8. He hopes for salvation, but does not act accordingly.

9. He is afraid of punishment, but takes no precautions against it.

10. He wishes to receive more benefit, but he does not give thanks [for what he has received].

11. He likes the idea of spiritual reward, but he does not practice patience.

12. He expedites sleep and postpones fasting

What a Bad Servant we are!
